If you are in the shop to buy Hdmi cables the option is mind blowing. One issue I have noticed is the use of the term Hdmi component cable. I am at a loss as to what citizen using this term are beyond doubt seeing for.
Let me try to explain. The component cable was an upgrade of the old composite cable that gave you one cable for the video and two, a left and right channel, for the audio. Composite cable was not able to maintain digital signal. The component cable also came with three cables but in this instance they were for the three colors channels (red green and blue) supported by Tvs of that time. They did enhance the capability of the picture but only when you had them plugged in correctly. Again this cable is only intended to maintain analogue signals and so is Not Hdmi compatible, as signals for and from High Def equipment are digital.
Hdmi Tv
So to the most recent cables, designed to transfer digital signals for the most up to date range of home entertainment equipment, such as Hdtv, Bluray, 1080p and 1080i cable and satellite and the most recent 3Dtv. Where the best of the previous generation of cables used 3 cables, Hdmi cables use a total of 19 all wrapped up neatly inside one shroud. This results in a cable about the sane diameter as a Usb cable, development them ideal for built in audio/video systems.
By taking those 0s and 1s, delivering them with no drop out at all, they transform a mediocre picture into the top capability presently possible. Now if your Tv, Dvd player etc is not Hd ready then buying these cables is a total waste of money and to be honest they would probably not have Hdmi connections anyway.
My point is here, there is a big variation between the two and there is no such thing as a Hdmi component cable. Before you buy Hdmi cables be sure your Tv has Hdmi connections and if it does you would be a fool not to use them.
